JEE Advanced 2020 has been rescheduled for September 27, 2020, considering the safety of students amid COVID-19 pandemic. In the wake of partial cancellation of several class 12th board examinations, the percentage criteria for a candidate to have at least 75% marks in board or be in the top 20 percentile of the class 12 exams, has been dropped by IITs for admissions this year. The HRD ministry announced the relaxation in JEE Advanced Eligibility criteria through a tweet on July 17, 2020.
To implement better social distancing, IITs are considering to conduct JEE Advanced 2020 over 2-3 days. The exam will not be conducted in foreign countries, candidates of foreign origin can choose their exam cities in India. It is likely that authorities will increase JEE Advanced Exam Centers to ensure social distancing. JEE Advanced 2020 is a national-level entrance exam conducted for providing admissions in the engineering programs in IITs.
